Huntsville Business Scene Heats Up!

Huntsville Business Scene Heats Up!

On 06, Jul, 2017

Huntsville has long been associated with specific businesses, NASA being the first that comes to mind for most. While these industries are still relevant in today’s Huntsville, there has been a sharp increase all across the business board in recent years. From technology to food and entertainment, Huntsville, and its surrounding counties, is becoming a force to be reckoned with! Let’s take a closer look at this thriving city and its unique combination of rapid growth with a creative flair.

Population Growth

Huntsville has seen a record increase of population in recent years, with many experts claiming that it will be the largest city in Alabama by 2022. This is due in part to an increase in jobs, a thriving art scene, and a pair of great colleges in Alabama A&M and University of Alabama in Huntsville. An increased population creates even more new businesses and jobs, and we can’t wait to see what new ventures will happen in the upcoming years! Along with a general population growth, certain job markets like the technology industry are seeing very large boosts, which brings even more confidence for a long-term upward trend in Huntsville.

Huntsville is known for its brains, with aerospace and biotechnology being two of the many impressive job sectors in the city. Having so many intellectuals in one place has helped in many ways, with one of the more surprising being how creative the city is. One of the best examples is Lowe Mill, an old textile mill that now houses hundreds of artists, restaurants, and even hosts concerts and music festivals! If that sounds like fun, make sure to check out Campus 805 (an old middle school that is now filled with breweries and more) and the Lumberyard. With a giant all-inclusive project in MidCity Huntsville debuting next month and an expansion of the Von Braun Center, it certainly doesn’t look like things are slowing down.

CCIM Knows Huntsville

CCIM is the gold standard for commercial real estate investment, and the Alabama chapter is no exception. We may be biased, but we also love the city of Huntsville, and know it well! Our 11th Annual CCIM North Alabama Commercial Market Symposium was recently held at The Ledges, and we are involved with many aspects of the rising business scene.
